Zachary Landis Kellogg was born April 17, 1987 in Hettinger ND, the son of Robert and Tammy (Moorman) Kellogg. Zach grew up around the Lemmon area where he attended Lemmon schools graduating from Lemmon High School in May 2006. During school, Zach participated in wrestling, football and basketball. He was also a member of the Lemmon FFA.
Zach enjoyed hunting, dirt biking, hanging out with his friends, playing the X-box, working on cars and helping out at a family friend's farm. Most of all Zach enjoyed spending time with his family and his niece Lyberti.
Zach worked for several places and people in the Lemmon area; The Lemmon Pit Stop, for Martin Paul, doing farm work for Richard Smith as well as helping out Les Honeyman. He also helped his father, Robert, mow lawns for several people in the community.
Zach passed away on Thursday morning, April 22, 2010 at his home in Lemmon.
Zach's family knows that if he could have seen the depth of pain and heartache that his choice to take his own life has caused his family and friends, he definitely would have chosen another way to deal with his pain and hurt. We still pray that he now finds peace.
Grateful for having shared in Zach's life are his parents, Robert and Tammy Kellogg, Lemmon, SD; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mandy and Brian Jones, Clarksville, TN and AngelLeah Kellogg, Lemmon, SD; one niece, Lyberti Foltz, Lemmon, SD; paternal grandparents, Kenneth (Joanne) Kellogg, Great Falls, MT and Gerty Schaffer, Beach, ND; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Marilyn Moorman and his great-grandparents.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 26 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon and one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday. A family service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the Funeral Home in Lemmon.
