Funeral services for Yvonne Hendricks,age 85, of Hettinger, ND, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at the Hettinger Lutheran Church in Hettinger, ND.  Pastor Kathleen Dettmann will officiate with burial to follow in the Hettinger Cemetery.

Yvonne M Nash was born on January 31, 1933, to Ed and Sophie (Iverson) Nash at the homeplace in Perkins County, SD.  She was the 10 ^th of 11 children.

She grew up in Northwestern Perkins County, SD, and attended Glendo School through the 8 ^th grade.  She then began helping around the farm and babysitting for neighborhood children.

On March 9, 1953, she was united in marriage to her neighbor and sweetheart, Alvin "Pete" Hendricks.  The next day, he was sent to Korea, and returned in August of 1954.

To this union four daughters were born, Cindy Lien, Connie Hendricks, Shelly (Greg) Froelich and Wanda (Joe) Clausen.  In 1967 the family moved to Hettinger, ND.  Yvonne worked at various jobs, including Halvorson's Super Valu, where she worked in the produce and bakery departments.

In the late 1970's, she was so proud to complete and receive her GED.  Pete and Yvonne were campground hosts at Shadehill in the late 1980's, and they enjoyed meeting many new people.  Following Pete's death, Yvonne served sandwiches at the Jack and Jill Store for many years, where she enjoyed visiting with the public.  She loved to crochet many different sizes of doilies, Easter Eggs and name doilies.  Later she enjoyed coloring in the Adult Coloring Books and loved to show her pictures off.

In December of 2016 she entered the Western Horizons Living Center due to failing health and passed away there on Saturday morning, April 21, 2018.

Left to mourn are her four daughters, Cindy Lien, Connie Hendricks, Shelly (Greg) Froelich and Wanda (Joe) Clausen; seven grandchildren, Travis Lien, Terry (Corie) Lien, Tara Lien, Bridget Conner, Kristy (Ryan) Pagel, Allison Clausen and Kira (Jamie) Henderson; nine great-grandchildren; five sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband Pete; her parents, Ed and Sophie Nash; step-father, George Sankey; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Will and Kate Hendricks; 10 siblings, Ervine, Clara (Glen) Shong, Flora (Elvin) Ellingson, Ernie (Esther) Nash, Lloyd (Patsy) Nash, Dorothy (John) Beld, Thelma (Andy) Drolc, Jim (Nan) Nash, Claude and Arlo Nash; her in-laws, Bill, Hank (Helen) Hendricks, Bud (Colleen) Hendricks, Ed Hendricks, Dorothy (Ray) Osborne, Doc (Mary Ann) Hendricks and Harold Lee.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a gathering of friends and family at 7:00 p.m. all on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Centennial Chapel of the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger, ND.
