WILLIAM F. "Willie" KELSCH was born on August 14, 1918 near Bentley, ND to Adam and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Kelsch. He grew up on the family farm, attended a rural Bentley School and later Mott High School. Willie was united in marriage to June Arlis Bohn on May 30, 1940 in New Leipzig, ND. They began their life together south of Bentley, ND where they farmed, ranched and began raising a family. In 1946, they moved to Mott, ND. Willie continued to farm until just recently. He loved the farming and ranching life and enjoyed checking the rain gauges placed on the farm. His wife, June, passed away on April 3, 2000. Willie entered the Good Samaritan Nursing Center in January of 2006, where he passed away on April 8, 2006.
Willie enjoyed playing cards, visiting with friends and family, was an avid golfer and enjoyed raising a garden. Many people will truly miss his sweet corn. He also enjoyed making his rounds in the morning having coffee with the coffee bunch and visiting the Mott Grain and Agronomy center.
Grateful for having shared his life are his three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Judy, Dean and Barb and Dan and Lori, all of Mott; two daughters and a son-in-law, Donna and William Steckler, of Bismarck, ND and Janine Lein, of Mott; two sisters, Betty Yarosh, of Mott and Lou Roebuck, of Woodland, CA; brother, Joseph Kelsch, of Mott; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
