Will J Lenners' Obituary
Will J. Lenners age 73 of Belle Fourche, died Thursday June 19, 2008 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family.
A celebration of life service will be held 2pm Monday June 23rd at St. James Lutheran Church in Belle Fourche, with Rev. Jeff Otterman officiating. Visitation will be held 5 to 7pm Sunday at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Inurnment will be held in Adams, Nebraska, where a memorial service will also be held at the Adams Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to St. James Lutheran Church and Northern Hills Hospice.
Willard John Lenners was born January 27, 1935 in Beatrice, Nebraska. He was the son of John and Hanna (Dorn) Lenners. Will grew up on a family farm near Adams Nebraska and was a graduate of the Adams High School. He attended one year of college in Fremont, NE. In 1957 Will was married to Genevieve Buhr at a country church near Pickrell NE. Following their marriage he farmed the family farmstead near Adams. In 1961 he left farming behind and began his 39 year career in the financial field. His career took him to Sioux City, IA, Pierre, SD, Council Bluffs, IA, Alcester, SD, and in 1998 he settled in Belle Fourche, SD. He managed First Western Bank in Belle Fourche for twelve years. Will loved Belle Fourche and he was proud of the First Western Bank Greater Belle Fourche Foundation. He was an active member of the St. James Lutheran Church, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Ag. Committee, the Lions Club, and the Belle Fourche Country Club. He also was an active supporter of the Belle Fourche Broncs sports teams.
Will's greatest love was his family and the cabin located in the beautiful Black Hills. He was a talented wood worker and he enjoyed hunting as well. He loved the Lord and gave Him honor and praise. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Will is survived by his wife, Jean of Belle Fourche, his beloved children; Cindy Lenners of Sacramento CA, Betty (husband Kelly) Lenners Hitson of Spearfish, Annette Lenners of Ashland OR, Rusty Lenners of Flagstaff AZ, three grandchildren and one great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved brothers; Menard and Harold Lenners.
