Wendy D. Frieze, age 66 of Mott, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND.

Cremation has taken place and a public visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:30am on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Mott.  A Private Family Service will be held at 11:30am at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Mott with Pastor Corey Warner, officiating. At 12:00 noon, all are invited for a time of fellowship and luncheon at the KC Hall.  Inurnment will be at a later date at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery south of Mandan, ND.

Wendy Dale Meyer was born to Arnold and Orlene (Vilhauer) Meyer on April 25, 1953 in Elgin, ND. She attended school in Elgin and spent her childhood years at the family cabin at Lake Tschida.  The 4th of July was one of her favorite holidays, as it brought family from all over the country to the lake cabin to enjoy a reunion.

Wendy married Marvin Frieze on October 18, 1969. They lived happily together in Mott, ND and raised three children: Jeremy, Stephanie, and Leah.  Wendy passed away five days prior to her 50th wedding anniversary, but thankfully celebrated the event earlier this summer at a family lake gathering.

Wendy greatly enjoyed serving for many years as both the Deputy Auditor of Hettinger County as well as the Secretary of the Southwest District Water Board.  Wendy made many friends during the daily courthouse coffee breaks.

Wendy and Marvin had a shared love of gardening, and owned and operated "Goober's Greenhouse" for many years, where they shared their passion with many customers. She was happiest with her hands in the dirt, and enjoyed many evenings sitting on her porch, reveling in her beautiful garden she created.

She was proud of her children and grandchildren and loved their great big family get-togethers. Christmas was her favorite holiday, one where she spent months picking out special gifts for everyone on her list and wrapping each one with care.

Keeping her in their fondest memories are her husband, Marvin, Mott, ND; son, Jeremy (April) Frieze, West Fargo, ND; daughters, Stephanie (Mark) Jochim, Flasher, ND; Leah (Eric) Hustad, West Fargo, ND; 12 grandchildren, Josh (Ashley) Jochim, John Jochim, Sara Jochim, Christian Hustad, Grace Jochim, Sydney Frieze, Isaac Jochim, Conner Hustad, Madelyn Hustad, Sophia Jochim, Kennedy Frieze, Ella Hustad; sister, Lois (John) McDougall; brothers, Leland (Connie) Meyer, Gary Meyer; sister-in-law, Lorraine (Nick) Schweiger, brothers-in-law, Mike (Delores) Frieze, Floyd (Arlene) Frieze, Leonard Frieze, and Melvin Frieze.

Wendy was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Orlene Meyer; brother, Russell Meyer; parents-in-law, Michael and Elizabeth Frieze; and a brother-in-law, George Frieze.
