Wanda M. Solberg, age 90 of Elgin, passed away on Thursday morning, February 2, 2017 at the Jacobson Memorial Care Center in Elgin.

Wanda was born on August 16, 1926 in Lidgerwood, ND to Carl and Bertha (Thompson) Marcuson. She was the youngest of 10 children and Wanda was baptized and confirmed at the Nordland Lutheran Church in Rutland, ND. She attended a local country school.

Wanda was united in marriage to Reuben Johnson in June of 1948. They lived in numerous areas in North and South Dakota where Reuben worked construction. On February 18, 1980, Wanda was united in marriage to Arnold Solberg. They lived in the Milnor and Wahpeton, ND areas. Arnold passed away on December 18, 1990.

Wanda moved to Elgin in 2011 where she resided at Dakota Hills and then at the Jacobson Memorial Care Center.

She enjoyed gardening, embroidering, playing cards and dancing.
Surviving family members include her 2 daughters, Debbie (Rick) Michels, Elgin, ND; Judy Upke, Bonham, TX; 2 sons, Deane (Darlene) Hartford, SD; Wayne (Candie) Detroit Lakes, MN; 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Reuben and her husband Arnold, two daughters, 9 brothers and sisters.

Wanda's remains will be cremated and a celebration of her life will be held later in the spring at the Nordland Lutheran Cemetery at Rutland, ND.
