Funeral services for Letitia ""Tish"" Gustafson, age 86, of Faith, SD, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2013 at the Faith United Methodist Church with Pastor Connie Eichinger and Joel Erickson officiating. Burial will be on Monday afternoon, at 3:00 p.m. at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.

Serving as casketbearers are Eric Gustafson, Alex Gustafson, Philip Erickson, Matthew Erickson, Tom Palmer, Wayne Palmer, Abby Gustafson and Kelly Daughters. All of Tish's friends and relatives are considered honorary casketbearers.

Special music will be provided by Butch Samuelson.

Letitia 'Tish' Mae Gustafson was born on August 10, 1926, in Philip, South Dakota to Sam and Artie (Mae Ramsey Waddell) Sorensen. Tish grew up on the family farm and attended a rural one-room country school and graduated from Philip High School.

While working at the Haakon County Court House in Philip, Tish sold Delbert the license for his jeep. He asked her to the St. Patrick's Day dance. Tish and Gus were married in Rapid City on July 20, 1946. They made their first home in Philip, but moved to many work sites throughout South Dakota and finally to Faith in 1952, raising their family of three: Gary, Morris and Jean.

While in Faith, Tish worked for Drs. Dzintars and Dattilo, Hall Lee's Jack and Jill, and the Faith Health Clinic. She also was a co-owner of M and D Food Shop, and a hostess at King's Café and the Wrangler Café.

Tish was a creative and involved person with a quick wit and sense of humor. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading, gardening, puzzles, sports, card games, quilting and entering contests. Tish loved watching sports and attended many events and activities in which her children and grandchildren participated.

Tish passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Belle Fourche Long Term Care Center.

Tish is survived by her son, Morris (Marlene) Gustafson, Faith, SD; daughter, Jean (Joel) Erickson, Plymouth, MN; grandchildren, Eric (Amber) Gustafson, Alex (Candace) Gustafson, Abby Gustafson, Philip Erickson, Matthew Erickson, Tom Palmer and Wayne Palmer; great grandchildren; Audrina Gustafson and Bryce Gustafson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Delbert on July 16, 2012; son, Gary; granddaughter, Hillary Gustafson; brothers, Hiram Waddell, Morris Sorensen; and sisters, Eleanor Edwards and Doris Burns.

A memorial has been established.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Faith Area Memorial Chapel in Faith and one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday morning.
