The Mass of Christian burial for Tibby L. Ring, age 88 of Underwood, ND, formerly of Dickinson, will be 10:30am Wednesday, May 10, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morristown. Fr Brian Fawcett will officiate with burial in the Morristown Cemetery.


Serving as casketbearers are William Wilson Sr., William Shillingstad, Dave Urlacher, George Ternes, Fredrick Wilson, and Mike Bennett.


Tibby Louise Shillingstad was born on December 6, 1917 in Brookings, SD to William and Lulu (Otradovec) Shillingstad. She attended school at Hettinger, ND and graduated from Brookings High School in Brookings, SD. On August 14, 1941, she was united in marriage to Earl James Ring at Morristown, SD. Tibby and Earl lived in various places including Gateway, ND and Glendive, MT. They purchased and trained horses and belonged to saddle clubs which they enjoyed.


In 1983, Tibby and Earl retired and moved to Dickinson, ND where they lived until Earl passed away on October 1, 1998. Tibby later moved to Garrison, ND.


Tibby was "forever young," lively and well loved by family and friends.


She passed from this life on Sunday morning, May 7, 2006 at the Prairie View Nursing Home in Underwood, ND.


She is survived by 2 sisters, Florence Fox, Coleharbor, ND and Almira Bondelid, Seattle, WA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.


She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl James Ring, her brother William Shillingstad; and 1 sister, Marjorie Rogers.
