THERESE MUGGLI was born on May 31, 1927 to Elizabeth (Soring) and Vincent Muggli, Sr. in Carson, ND.  She was the first baby baptized in the recently formed St. Theresa's parish in Carson. Therese grew up in the family home just south of the Carson Roller Mills, where she assisted her mother in cooking for their busy family. She graduated from Carson High School in 1945.

On February 1, 1950, Therese and her high school classmate, Nicholas Deichert, were married at St. Theresa's. This was the first wedding held in the current structure. They farmed southeast of Carson for 53 years.

After Nick's passing on February 18, 2003, Therese continued to live on the farm. She enjoyed the fresh country air, raising a few chickens, the large gardens she was known for, and she was always following the weather.

Since September of 2018 Therese resided at Prospera Sunset in Mandan, rehabbing from a surgically-repaired broken leg.

Therese was a hard worker, a grower of vegetables, a woman of deep faith, and a 27 year cancer survivor.

Therese passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019 at CHI St. Alexius in Bismarck.

She is survived by her children, Luke (Rita Ann), Williston, ND; Daniel, Spearfish, SD; Agnes (Richard) Vernon, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Cole (Katie), Andrew, Mary, Rachel (Andrew), Amy (Troy), Michael; great-grandchildren, Eislynn, Graham, Nolan, Weston; beloved younger sisters, Mary E. Muggli, Santa Fe, NM; Barbara Dascalos, Sylmar, CA; "honorary grandchildren" Corey and Michelle Deichert and family.

Therese was preceded in death by her husband, a son Vincent, her parents, brothers Leo, Vincent, Jr., and Anthony, beloved older sisters Anne Shaw, Rose Weinhandl and Helen Zaczkowski.
