Theresa attended school in Meadow Central and graduated from the Lemmon High School in 1923. She also attended Northern State Teachers College and Spearfish Teachers College, and taught school many years in the Lemmon area.
Theresa was married to Adolph Stelmack in Lemmon in 1932. Following their marriage they farmed north of Lemmon for several years. They later moved south of Thunder Hawk, where they farmed and ranched until Adolph's death in 1964. Theresa later moved into Lemmon until 1986 when she moved into the Hickory House in Spearfish. For the past few months she has been a resident at the Dorsett Regional Senior Care Center in Spearfish.
Theresa will be remembered for her love of teaching. She spent many years teaching and is remembered fondly by generations of children that she schooled. As the oldest of ten children, she was a "second mother" to many of her siblings. This past May, Theresa celebrated her 100th birthday with family. She was a special sister and aunt.
