Celebration of Life for Stephanie G. (Uhler) Hack, 52, of Allyn, WA, formerly of Reeder, ND area will be Sunday, June 30, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Granary by Mirror Lake Park in Hettinger, ND. Rev. Deb Molbert will officiate.
Stephanie passed away at her home in Allyn, WA on November 17, 2018 surrounded by her adoring family.
Stephanie Uhler was born on November 16 th , 1966 to Fern and Joseph Uhler and raised on the family farm in Adams County North Dakota with four sisters and three brothers: Barb, Tim, Terry, Susan, Ginger, Steve and Kimberly.
She so enjoyed being raised on a farm. Some of her fond memories were going to the barn in the spring and finding mama kitty and her new born babies. We would move them to the wooden granary and Mom would let Kim and Steph sleep the night with them. Good Ol' Smokey, the Shetland pony, the kids rode in parades, on the farm and Bucyrus. Easy to do because Smokey would jump in the back of the pickup and away, we went to a day of riding.
Other activities on the farm were ice skating parties, sledding and hayrides, all with Dad in attendance. There was moving cows to pasture, gardening and canning with Mom, jumping on the haystacks, going down south to Golden Butte and running around, carving the big snow drifts into forts, a bottle calf named Bubbles, pet rabbits, a trade for a goat and so much more.
Stephanie attended Grade School in Reeder and she always felt lucky about this having teacher's that joined the kids during recess and going the extra mile for their students. In Jr. High and High School, she played basketball, enjoyed gymnastics, was always doing cartwheels and round-offs. She was so full of energy. She was a cheerleader, Homecoming Queen and a basketball statistician. Some of the Reeder community things she loved to reminisce about were the turkey raffles, Santa Claus Day, parades, summer dances and swimming at Gascoyne Lake.
Stephanie worked as a nurse's aide for about seven years, which she loved and had a passion for. When she would talk of some of her favorite residents she took care of, a huge smile would come across her face and her eyes would light up. While being an aide, she also worked at Next Door Pizza in Scranton and took classed at the college in Dickinson, ND. She moved to Washington State, worked a few jobs here and there, but was a successful secretary for 25 years and developed a life long friendships with her bosses Awilda and Mary K.
Stephanie was united in marriage to Troy Hack on February 27 th , 1993 in Hettinger, ND. They moved a few times, but would end up back in Washington. When asked what she loved about Troy, her answer was "He's a manly man", always fixing things at home, work or in the yard. He would buy gifts that were unique and just for her, always showed love and concern for her. She always remarked how blessed she was to be married to him. In her words, "so handsome and kind". They enjoyed walking, camping, gardening and their pets. Their passion was snowmobiling. They would rent a cabin in the mountains for Christmas and go snowmobiling and made many fond memories.
Their baby girl, Chelsie Marie was born on May 16 th , 1995. They always joked about anything good would happen on the 16 th day of the month. Troy's birthday is the 16 th , Steph's is the 16 th , got their dog on the 16 th and their precious daughter was born on the 16 th .
Steph had so many fond memories of Chelsie. She wrote that she loves Chelsie's "sweet thoughtful and kind nature, especially for her elders and those with disadvantages". Chelsie has a servant's heart. Steph was happy for Chelsie when she became the wife of Alex Ferguson on July 13 th , 2017. She was also proud of Chelsie's accomplishments, working at the YMCA and now the Doctor's clinic and her love of gardening, just like her Momma. Stephanie also wrote, "Chelsie, you are so beautiful and kind".
In Stephanie's notes, she mentioned she was blessed to have a wonderful mother-in-law in Rose, who's children have been her life and also her love of Christ, was a true example to Steph. Steph was also grateful for her brothers and sisters-in-law, with their southern hospitality and thoughtfulness, especially mentioning Troy's sister, Rosanna, her husband Harold and their sons, as they serve our country.
Stephanie was very grateful for her brothers and sisters, who made numerous trips to see and care for her, travelling from Wyoming, Arizona and North Dakota. The tender care Ginger gave her, the way Kimberly made her laugh, Steve's daily calls and jokes, Susan's almost daily stops and visits, Tim was the crybaby, Barb's stories and Terry's driving. Just like her mother, Fern, Stephanie had a unique relationship with each of her siblings and they all valued and loved the time they had with her. They were so amazed at her courage and faith.
Stephanie was a strong believer in Jesus Christ and wanted to leave you with a few thoughts she learned through her relationship with Jesus. "God has forgiven sins, we should as well, encourage each other, watch your tongue, be a good friend, build relationships with Godly friends, have good character, be kind, honest and thoughtful, love doing things the other person wants, not just what you want, draw close and seek God – we all need the Bible to grow spiritually, listen to God and your conscience. God has taught me so much! I am the righteousness of God because of His Son, Jesus Christ. His dying and being risen again, he is my God and I am one of His people. The Angels will carry me to Heaven safely. We have grief, but we have hope in the celestial city of Heaven." Quoted from Stephanie Hack.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, Troy Hack, their daughter, Chelsie and son-in-law, Alex, mother-in-law, Rose Hack, sisters and brothers-in-law on both sides of her family, sisters; Barb, Susan, Ginger and Kimberly, brothers; Tim, Terry and Steve; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
