Shirley Marie Norberg was born on July 4, 1932 the only child to Victor & Alice (Burns) Norberg in Seattle, WA. She was raised and educated in Seattle and at the age of 18, she moved to Spokane where she was trained and worked as a dental assistant. It was while in Spokane that she met Virgil Anderson who was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base. On August 13, 1955 they were married in Huron, SD and made their home on the family farm south of Watauga. They moved to McIntosh in 1964 when they purchased the Jack & Jill Store. After selling the grocery store to their daughter and son-in-law in 1984, she worked for several years for the Corson County Assessor. Due to health issues, Shirley moved to Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon in 2013 where she has resided until the time of her death.
Shirley was a very giving and compassionate person. She loved her family and was always thinking of others before herself. She would never complain & was always upbeat no matter what her issues were.

Shirley was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 54 years, and a Junior Auxiliary leader. She was a former chairman of the Easter Seals Society for Corson County, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher.
