Many hearts are heavy with the passing of Sheila Koehler, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Marian Manor Health Care Center in Glen Ullin, ND, surrounded by her family.  We are very sad but are also happy knowing Sheila is once again pain free.

Funeral Services for Sheila will be on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 starting with a Rosary at 10:00 am CT, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am CT at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin, ND.  Fr. Gary Benz will officiate with burial  at a later date at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, rural Hebron, ND.  Visitation will start at 9:00 am CT at the church on Wednesday morning.

SHEILA MARIE TKACH was born to Peter and Marion (Loran) Tkach on May 31, 1955 in Bismarck, ND.  She grew up on the family farm south of Hebron, the fifth of six children.

Sheila graduated from Hebron High School in 1973 and married her husband of 46 years, Jerome Koehler, on June 14, 1975.  Jerome and Sheila moved to Glen Ullin in 1978 where they raised their family of four children and resided until her passing.

Sheila will be remembered for her creative ability to make cake pops, love of flying kites, gardening, riding motorcycle, and playing cards with family.

After raising her children until they were school-aged, Sheila returned to the workforce where she found a love for and pride in helping manage the business side of health care facilities.  She worked at the Glen Ullin Clinic for 17 years, Medcenter One Mandan Clinic for 5 years, then retired from the Richardton Health Center after 10 years.

Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Donald and Gerald Tkach, and her in-laws Clifford and Corrine Koehler.

She is survived by her husband Jerome, son Jesse (Jennifer), Glen Ullin, ND; daughter Sarah (Mark) Wandle, Worden, MT; daughter Stephanie (Chad) Tucker, Bismarck, ND; daughter Samantha Koehler (Shawn Kurle), Bismarck, ND; granddaughters Brynn and Raegan Wandle, siblings Susan (Ray) Ficek, Sharon (Benjamin) Bertsch, Timothy (Brenda) Tkach, and sisters-in-law Betty and Joanne Tkach.

The family would like to thank the incredible doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants at the Bismarck Cancer Center, Sanford Medical Center, Mid Dakota Clinic, CHI St. Alexius, and Marian Manor Care Center for their truly excellent care.

In lieu of flowers the family has established a memorial.
