Funeral services for Shawn Robert Johnson, age 22, of Carson, ND, will be 10:30am Friday, February 28, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mott, ND. Pastor John Amundson will officiate with burial in the Sunnyslope Cemetery in Mott, ND.

Serving as casketbearers are Brandon Erickson, Jared Fischer, Brian Erickson, Michael Pekas, Torrey Pekas, James Pekas, Darren Pekas, Jennifer Brunson, Megan VanLishout, Justin Kilzer, and Kaylene Kilzer.

Shawn passed away peacefully on Monday morning, February 24, 2014, after a lengthy battle with Juvenile Huntington's Disease

Shawn Robert Johnson was born on August 7, 1991, to Robert and Joleen (Pekas) Johnson in Tulsa, OK. He was baptized in the Christian faith at Fellowship Lutheran Church in Tulsa on October 26, 1991. He attended school in Claremore, OK and graduated from Claremore High School in 2010.

While attending school he was active in soccer and baseball. He loved camping, fishing, tubing and helping his mom. He was his mother's pride and joy.
Shawn and his mom moved to North Dakota three years ago and Shawn loved to be with animals, the country life and riding in the semi with Donald.

He is survived by his mother, Joleen Johnson, Carson, ND and her fiancée, Donald Kilzer, Bentley, ND; grandparents, Leona and Norbert Amann, Richardton, ND; uncles and aunts, Dave and Karen Pekas, Hettinger, ND, Doug Pekas, Mott, ND, Julie and Ron Fischer, Carson, ND, Janelle Erickson, Mott, ND; cousins, Torrey (Denim) Pekas, Hettinger, ND, James (Lora) Pekas, Hettinger, ND, Jennifer (Raymond) Brunson, Rapid City, SD, Megan VanLishout, Mott, ND, Michael and Darren Pekas, Rapid City, SD, Jared Fischer, Fargo, ND, Brandon Erickson, Mandan, ND and Brian Erickson, Mott, ND.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Johnson Jr.; his grandparents, Lawrence Pekas, Robert Johnson, Sr. and Jeanne Hester.

Visitation with the family present will be on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Mott.
