Funeral services for Sandra Lee Engel, age 57, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the Faith Community Center in Faith, SD. Calvin Chapman will officiate with burial to follow in the Faith City Cemetery.

Sandra Lee Veit was born on February 5, 1960, in Faith, SD, to David and Betty (Stroup) Veit.  Sandy attended school in Van Duesen, Dupree and then Faith, SD, graduating from Faith High School in 1978.  Sandy later attended Lake Area Tech in Watertown, SD, for Child Development.

She was united in marriage to Leon Engel on February 5, 1988 in Rapid City, SD.  They settled on the Tom Mason ranch outside of Faith.  Sandy worked multiple jobs throughout her life but was happiest when she was working with children. She worked in multiple child care centers and ran an in home daycare for many years. She worked at the Faith School. She loved all the kids she worked with.  She loved spending time with family, friends and her pets and also loved to read.

Sandy passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at her home in Faith, SD.

She is survived by her husband, Leon; children, Shawn, Josh, Becky and Shayna; grandchildren, Cody, Caden and Kyson; her great-grandson, Carter; her siblings, Linda (Kevin) Mount, Dave (Reena) Veit, Nora Veit, Kathy (Dave) Mraz, Cheryl (Steve) Keller, Patty (Buck) Murtha, Janet Scully, Wenelle Clown, Wynette Mills, Wileen Becker and Tracy Veit; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of special friends.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, David and Betty Veit.

Visitation will be on Monday, May 8, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Faith Area Memorial Chapel in Faith, SD.
