Yasuko Sueyoshi "Ruby Jameson" was born on February 2, 1932 in Izena-San, Okinawa, Japan to Buntaro and Shizu (Nishida) Sueyoshi. She graduated from high school in Okinawa. She worked as a seamstress and tailor in shops in Naha, Okinawa when she met a young American soldier Jim Jameson in 1955. Jim was discharged from the U.S. Army on December 15, 1956 and then took a civilian job with the army to remain in Okinawa so they could marry.

Jim and Yasuko Sueyoshi "Ruby" were united in marriage on January 3, 1957 in Naha, Okinawa, Japan. They resided in Awase, Okinawa until September of 1958 when she and her husband, and baby son, Jimmy came to the United States. They came to South Dakota first living in McLaughlin, Winner, and then McIntosh. Ruby became a Naturalized Citizen in Pierre, SD on May 11, 1971.
Ruby was a fixture in the McIntosh school kitchen for over 30 years. She quickly made friends with the little kids and continued to give them a hard time as they progressed through the grades. During the summer, she worked as a cook for the 4-H camp at Lake Richmond in Aberdeen for many years.

Ruby enjoyed fishing, bowling, crocheting, sewing, baking, and playing cards with her friends. Ruby was a master gardener and enjoyed giving her produce to family and friends. She was the type of person who might put zucchini in your car when you were not looking.

Ruby always made sure her guest never went hungry. Ruby was known for her gentle spirit and bright beautiful smile. Ruby loved her grandchildren who brought much joy to her and she was very proud of their accomplishments.

Keeping her in their fondest memories are her husband of 54 years, Jim, McIntosh, SD; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Denise Jameson, Knoxville, TN; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Darrell Buhler, Coos Bay, OR; Bonnie Jameson, Pierre, SD; Shirley and Andy Fergel, Pierre, SD; 5 grandchildren, Sharon, Jeff, Rebecca Jameson, Taylor Siverson, and Caelan Fergel; 2 brothers, Taichi Sueyoshi, Bunei Sueyoshi, and 2 sisters, Toshi Sueyoshi and Yoshie Sueyoshi, all in Japan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant daughter, Gail Karen Jameson.
