The funeral service for Roy O. Witte, age 90 of Lemmon, formerly of Isabel, will be held 3:00pm MT Friday, April 24, 2015, at the United Church of Christ in Isabel. Gary Steuck will officiate with burial in the Hillview Cemetery at Isabel.

Special music will be provided by Barb Buress.

Serving as casketbearers are Bryce Witte, Brett Rumple, Cody Witte, Charles Mound, Harlan Mound, and Ron Robison. Roy's grandchildren and great grandchildren are considered honorary bearers.

Roy Otto Witte was born on January 20, 1925 on the Witte homestead near Coal Springs, SD to Theodore and Lena (Sundermeyer) Witte. He worked on the family farm throughout his childhood. Roy met Esther Young and they were united in marriage in 1955. They resided in Isabel where Roy was employed with the State Highway Department until his retirement in the late 1980's.
His wife passed away in 1989 and Roy continued to live in Isabel until 1995 when he moved to Lemmon where he resided at Five Counties Nursing Home.

He loved reading western books, especially Louis L' Amour books and playing cards.

Roy passed away on April 17, 2015 at Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon, SD.

Roy is survived by his son, Raymond of Rapid City, SD; daughters, Marlena, Hartford, SD; Diane, Arlington, SD; Rebecca, Mobridge, SD; Joy, Fountain, CO; Helen, Watertown, SD; and Tracy, Rapid City, SD; and well as numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther; son, Theodore; brothers, Clifford, Clarence, Harold, and Ray, as well as his parents, Theodore and Lena.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church in Isabel.
