Roy James Senn's Obituary
Memorial Mass for Roy Senn, 74, longtime farmer, of Mott, ND will be on Monday, August 4, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Mott, ND. Fr. Charles Zins will officiate and burial of Roy's ashes will follow at Sunnyslope Cemetery in Mott. A Rosary/Vigil will be Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Mott.
Roy James Senn was born on September 9, 1933 in Mott, ND. He was the fifth of nine children born to Valentine and Emelia (Steiner) Senn. Roy was united in marriage to Jane Meier on January 9, 1958. They raised their family on a farm 20 miles north of Mott, where Roy farmed grain crops and maintained livestock.
Even though Roy retired from farming as an occupation, he continued to help friends and neighbors on their farms. In his spare time Roy enjoyed reading, playing cards with family and friends and spending time with his grandchildren.
Roy passed away on Thursday, July, 31, 2008 at home with his family present. Surviving family members include five daughters and four sons-in-law, Laurel (Philip) Messina, Colorado Springs, CO, Wanda (Jeff) Reisenauer, Dickinson, ND, Melissa (Mark) Reis, Portland, OR, Jennifer Haugen, Fargo, ND and Elizabeth (Ryan) Zastoupil, Dickinson, ND; 11 grandchildren, David and Brian Lantz, Randi Taber, Christopher, Tiffany and Cole Reisenauer, Tanya DiCicco, Sophia and Isabella Reis, Kara and Kacie Zastoupil; three great grandchildren, Miles Lantz, Bryanna and Aiden Lantz; four sisters, Delores Huisman, Bismarck, ND, Dorothy (Richard) Skaufel, Aurora, CO, Bertha (Fred) White, Louisville, KY and Mildred (Paul) Banchy, Eau Claire, WI; one brother, Patrick (Maryann) Senn, Greensboro, NC; sister-in-law, Ann Senn, Covina, CA and brother-in-law, Mike Greff, Mandan, ND and many nieces and nephews. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Valentine and Emelia (Steiner) Senn, a daughter, Debra Lantz, brother, Lee Senn, sisters, Veronica Greff and Rose Schweiger, brothers-in-law, Maynard Huisman and Frank Schweiger and nephews, Dwight, Kenneth and Robert and a great granddaughter, Kyree Lantz.
Roy's family would like to thank his friends for their love and support.
