Mass of Christian Burial for Rosella Dobitz, age 86, of Morristown, SD, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lemmon, SD. Fr. Tony Grossenburg will officiate with burial in the Morristown Cemetery.

Rosella Dukart was born on a farmstead south of Dickinson, ND to Frank and Katie (Heidt) Dukart on December 19, 1928. The oldest of 12 children, Rosella, grew up close to the Cedar Dam, southwest of New England, ND. She attended country schools and finished her schooling at a school southeast of Dickinson near the family farm.

Rosella attended the Christie Beauty School and graduated in 1947. She began working at a beauty shop in Dickinson, but soon returned to help out her parents on the farm. She met a young man, Carl Dobitz, with the help of her cousin and on November 14, 1950, Rosella and Carl were united in marriage. One son was born to this union, Francis. They lived on a small farm north of Regent, ND before moving to a ranch north of Morristown, SD.

Rosella worked hand in hand with Carl, raising their son and working on the ranch. Carl passed away in 1996 and Rosella continued living and working on the ranch, until entering the Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon on October 17, 2013.

Rosella loved dancing and was an especially good card player. She enjoyed playing in card clubs especially whist and pinochle. She spent many hours behind her sewing machine making many quilts for her family and friends. She was very proud when her quilts won 1st and 2nd place at the Morristown Centennial. A wonderful cook, Rosella loved making cheese buttons and other German dishes. She enjoyed cleaning, and kept an immaculate house.

Having her son's family live next door was a joy for Rosella. Her three granddaughters were the sparkle in her eye. They treasure the time spent with her, and were blessed to have her in their lives. Rosella's great-grandchildren brought a whole new joy to her life, and her whole family was blessed to have been so close to her.

Rosella passed away on Friday, December 18, 2015 at the Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon.

Keeping her in their most treasured memories are her son, Fran (Karla) Dobitz, Morristown, SD; three granddaughters, Kelly (Luke) Anderson, Jamestown, ND, Kim (Dane) Oliver, Missoula, MT and Kori (Mike) Dauwen, Lemmon, SD; nine great-grandchildren, Dyllan, Logan, Kendyl and Kinley Anderson, CC, Maizee and Charlotte Oliver and Nate and Andi Dauwen; seven sisters, Betty (Don) Stieg, Bursville, MN, Eleanor Dukart, Eagen, MN, Sandy (Don) Kadrmas, Bismarck, ND, Carol (Bob) Cartledge, Bismarck, ND, Pauli (Doug) Kary, Billings, MT, Patti Hatfield, Mill Creek, WA and Judy (Brian) Dobler, Aurora, CO; two brothers, Al Dukart and Howard (Ruth) Dukart, all of Bloomington, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl; and two brothers, Pat and Eddie Dukart.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a rosary/vigil service at 7:00 p.m. all on Monday, December 21, 2015 at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon.
