Rose Papka, 93, of Hettinger, ND passed away at the Western Horizon's Care Center in Hettinger, ND on September 28, 2009.

The Memorial Service will be Friday, Oct. 2, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Hettinger. Rev. Judy Banwart will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Memorial Service at the church on Friday afternoon.

Rose was born August 22, 1916 at Ralph, South Dakota to Andrew Philip Mack and Barbara (Landenberger) Mack. She was married to Marion Mathias Papka on October 9, 1934. She was the Mother of 3 boys, 9 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren, and 7 Great Grandchildren.


Rose and Marion lived in Buffalo, South Dakota before moving to Eagle Rock, Missouri where they operated a Tourist Court and farmed. They returned to Buffalo for a short time then back to Purdy, Missouri on a farm. She clerked in a grocery store also.


Her husband, Marion passed away April 13, 1974 and in 1980 she moved to Reeder, North Dakota to be near family. In later years she moved to Hettinger where she resided until her death.


She is preceded in death by husband Marion, son Raymond, daughter-in-law Jeanie, 5 brothers and 4 sisters. She is survived by son Darrell (Joann), Duane (Lois), 9 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren, 7 Great-Great Grandchildren and numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends.
