ROSE WALKER was born on September 8, 1918 at her parents' farm eight miles west of Selfridge, ND to George and Rosina (Geohring) Walker. She married Adolph E. Haman on March 12, 1943. They farmed and ranched together 11 miles west of Selfridge for 39 years until his death in 1982. Rose spent the winters with her daughter, Darlene, but North Dakota was always her home. With the first scent of spring, she ordered seeds for her garden and headed home. On February 18, 2005 she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, so she was never to return to her beloved home. Rose's love for children was reflected in the 25 years of volunteering for 4H and 30 years for the Farmers Union Youth Group. Rose Haman passed from this life on Sunday, June 18, 2006 in Napa, California.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughters, Shirley (Jim) Inman, of Hilton, NY and Darlene ( Bob) Yanover, of Napa, CA; son Clayton (Susan) Haman, of Denton, NE; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and her brother, Christ Walker. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, three brothers, George, Sam and Phillip Walker, one sister, Maletta Lanter and one great grandson, Gage Inman.

Donations in her memory can be sent to the American Cancer Society
