Rosalie Scheer Schaible was born October 4, 1929 in Rocky Ford, Colorado, to Rev. H.O. and Luise (Skorloff) Scheer. She was the youngest of seven children. The siblings couldn't decide on one middle name for their sister so she was christened "Rosalie Esther Miriam Lydia Scheer."

In 1933, Rosalie moved with her family to Follett, Texas, where her father served the rural St. John's Congregational Church for many years. In high school Rosalie was a basketball player and homecoming queen. Following graduation from Follett High School in 1948, she moved with her parents to Neuberg, North Dakota, 15 miles north of Burt.  Two miles from the rural Neuberg Congregational Church and parsonage, Rosalie taught grades 1-8 in 1948-1949 at the two-room Odessa School. She then moved into Mott and became a bank teller at Mott Commercial Bank.

On July 2, 1950, she married Benjamin Schaible. They farmed six miles southwest of Mott. In 1964, the couple and their three children moved to a new home built one-half mile south of Mott. Following retirement from farming, Ben was known for restoring and displaying some 160 antique tractors on the lot next to their home. For many years the couple welcomed hundreds of visitors worldwide, who viewed the tractors and also rang the collection of church and school bells. Ben died July 6, 2004. Rosalie moved to the Good Samaritan Center, Mott, following a stroke in 2009.

Throughout her life Rosalie had many wonderful friends including those from her bowling league, homemakers group, Zoar Congregational Church, and during her last years, many of the staff and residents of the Good Samaritan Center. Rosalie loved drives in the country, playing card games, being known as "that Knife Lady" (because she sold Rada cutlery as a mission fundraiser), and attending Mott-Regent basketball and football games. She also was a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys. She quoted and practiced that a smile was "full of mirth and goodness, with heavenly kindness blest. It's worth a million dollars, and it doesn't cost a cent."

Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law Donald and Carmen Schaible, Mott, ND; daughter-in-law Beth Schaible, Fargo, ND; daughter and son-in-law Charles and Cynthia Boyll, Colorado Springs, CO; eight grandchildren and their spouses: Niccole "Nicci" Schaible, Boston, MA; Bert (Jackie) Schaible and John (Rachel) Schaible, all of Mott, ND; Evan Schaible and Ben (Megan) Boyll, Dickinson, ND; Daniel "Danny" Schaible and Katherine "Katie" Schaible, Fargo, ND; and Leah (Carl-Erik Svensson) Boyll, Santa Jose, CA. There are also nine great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Silas and Alice Scheer, Dallas, TX; sisters-in-law Helen Schaible, Mott, ND; and Esther Scheer, Dallas, TX; plus many nieces and nephews and their families.
