RONALD JAMES HEUPEL was born on December 10, 1952 in Hettinger, ND to Alfred and Nora (Rattei) Heupel. He grew up on the farm near Bison, SD and attended school in Bison. He continued to stay on the farm for several years after Alfred had retired. He later worked as a ranch hand in Buffalo, SD and then Redfield, SD. He has been living in Sioux Falls, SD for the past 20 years where he worked for John Morrell and then started doing construction work. He was employed with Runge Enterprise at the time of his death.

Ronald loved working with the animals on the farm, especially the horses. After he left the farm he enjoyed watching the cooking shows on T.V. and trying new recipes. Ronald loved his family and would call them often even if he had nothing to say. He just wanted to give a 'jingle' and make sure we were ok.
