Roland Rokusek age 92 of Elgin, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the Prince of Peace Care Center in Ellendale, ND.

There will be a public visitation from 9:00am to the time of the funeral service at 10:30am on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Elgin.  Pastor Ed Zimmerman will officiate with burial in the Prairie View Cemetery at Heil, ND.

Roland Milton Rokusek was born March 2, 1928 at Willa, ND to Albert and Lydia (Schmidt) Rokusek.  Roland farmed with his father then worked for Roy Redman as a farmhand north of Heil, ND.

Roland serv ed in the North Dakota National Guard for 2 years and then on January 17, 1951, Roland was inducted into the U.S. Army.  On April 29, 1951, Roland married Bernetta Spangenberger north of Heil.  Roland and Bernetta had one son David and a grandson Michael.  Roland farmed north of Heil until 1962 and then moved into Elgin to work for Martell's for 12 years.  He worked in bookkeeping and was a parts man until retiring in 1975 due to health reasons.  On November 10, 1991, Bernetta passed away.

Roland then married Elsie Hauck on June 27, 1992.  They lived in Elgin.  Roland lived Dakota Hills for several years prior to Jacobson Memorial Hospital Care Center.  He has lived in Ellendale, ND since December 9, 2020.  Roland passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the Prince of Peace Care Center in Ellendale, ND.

He is survived by his grandson, Michael Rokusek, Charleston, SC; and a sister, Bernice Boehm, Pensacola, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, David; and his wife Bernetta; and a brother, Marvin.
