Roger Follmer, age 72, of Hettinger, ND, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND.

Roger Follmer, 72, of Hettinger North Dakota, passed away on January 9 ^th , 2021 due to complications during surgery.

He was born March 8 1948 and raised in Hettinger.  Roger graduated from Hettinger High School in 1967.

Roger was a successful farmer and worked his family farm his entire life.  He spent countless hours farming and working on machinery.  His interests included making model cars when he was younger and driving fast cars as he got older.  He had joined a car club and took part in their activities.  He participated in trap shooting for years and enjoyed the friends he made while shooting clay targets.  Roger wasn't a hunter, but he enjoyed taking hunters pheasant hunting on his property, and spending time with them.  He loved riding his motorcycles and often would tell crazy stories about how fast he would drive.

Roger had a big heart, was always willing to lend a helping hand, and enjoyed spending time with friends.

He is survived by his brother, Gerald Follmer; sister, Betty Shimek; and nephew, David Shimek.

A memorial service will not be offered at this time due to COVID 19 concerns.  There will be a private graveside service.
