Robert D. Goldsmith "Bob" passed from this life on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at CHI St. Alexius in Bismarck, ND.

A Private Family Service will be held at the Prince of Peace Chapel of the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon.  Pastor Terra Kossow officiated with burial in the Morristown Cemetery.

Special music will be provided by Connie Maier, organist.

Serving as casketbearers are Chris Goldsmith, Nathan McNaney, Jason Grey Eagle, Mike and Bo Beer, and Greg Tatro.

Robert Dale Goldsmith was born September 30, 1923 to Howard Kenneth (Shorty) and Sadie Louise (White) Goldsmith at the family home south of Watauga, SD. He attended school at the country school until the family moved to Morristown years later. He graduated from Morristown High School in 1942.

After graduation Bob took a class teaching metal bending at Sand Lake and then went to St Paul Minnesota to work on planes.  He never liked the big city and came home and started farming and building dams.  He enjoyed farming and after he retired he drove out to watch the crops being harvested.

In 1948 Bob married Rosemary Schiley from Meadow.  They made their home on a rented place and lived there for 8 years. They then moved to their own place south of Morristown.  Their happiness increased when they adopted their son Larry in 1960 and their daughter Brenda in 1963.  They built a new house in 1965 and lived there until they retired and moved to Lemmon. Bob still liked the farm and still called it home.

Bob has left this world and is at peace with the Lord in Heaven surrounded by those who have gone before him.  In spite of his quick passing, he had time to let his family know he does not regret a thing in his life, knowing that it was all part of God's plan

Bob will be missed by his loving wife of 73 years, Rosemary of Lemmon, son Larry of Lemmon and his children Kimberly (Nathan) McNaney and their sons, Ethan and Connor, of Dickinson, ND, and Jennifer (Jason) Grey Eagle and their sons, Jacob, Cameron, and Kai, of Terry, Montana, and Chris (Jen) Goldsmith and their sons, Aiden and Riley, of Lemmon, daughter Brenda (Phil) Mitzel of Aberdeen and Lemmon and their children Jason Mitzel of Rapid City, Kristin (Jon) Ellwanger of Centennial, CO, and Megan (Ross) Janssen and their children, Khai, Brody and Brynn of Rushville, NE.

Bob was met in heaven by his parents Shorty and Sadie, his father and mother in law William and Margaret Schiley, his sister and her husband Doris and Don Albert, and his sister Beth Payne.

A memorial has been established.
