The Funeral Service for Rita Goetz, age 77 of Bison, will be held at 10:30am MT Monday, September 12, 2011 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Lemmon. Pastor Brad Burkhalter will officiate with burial in the Greenhill Cemetery at Lemmon.


A Family Service will be held at 6:00pm MT on Sunday evening, at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon. Special music will be provided by the Buer Family.


Serving as Honorary Casketbearers are Rita's granddaughters, Deborah Houghtaling, Micaela Rice, Bobbi Besler, McKenzy Crow, Harmonie Hoffman, Krista Ellingson, Lori Crow, Lisa Crow, and Teran Doerr and her great grandchildren, Vincent, Gage, Kierra, Jaeden, Tayley, Kiley, Landon, Addison, Treydon, Jax, Ty, Tyler, Trevor, Kaleb, Jordan, Cameron, Cooper, Amya, and Haven.


Serving as Active Casketbearer's are Rita's grandsons, Josh, Adam, Vance, and Blake Besler, Barry Crow, Joe Crow, and Jason Crow, Aaron, Seth, Cody, and Cole Buer, Alex Crow, Brent Holgard, Jacob Crow, and Jeremy Allan Crow †.


RITA ANN POTTS was born August 13, 1934 at Lemmon, SD to Andrew and Margaret (Jonas) Potts. She grew up in the Petrel area west of Lemmon and attended a local country school. Rita attended High School in Lemmon. She worked as a telephone operator in the Lemmon area.


Rita married Bob Crow Sr. on November 14, 1952 at Lemmon. They lived in the Lemmon area until moving to Bison in 1967. To this union eight children were born, Allan, Bob Jr., Rose Ann, John, Jackie, Juanita, Greg, and Tammy.


Rita lived in Selby until the death of her husband, Calvin in 2006. The last four years of her life were spent in Bison where she could be closer to her family. Due to health reasons, she entered Five Counties Nursing Home on April 27, 2011, where she passed from this life on Friday morning, September 9, 2011.


She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed a large garden and canning, and taught her girls along the way. She felt her greatest accomplishment in life was her children.


Surviving family members include her 4 daughters, Rose Ann (Chris) Besler, St. Onge, SD; Jackie (Jeff) Van Vactor, Bison, SD; Juanita (Dale) Holgard, in Utah, Tamara (Tracy) Buer, Bison, SD; 4 sons, Allan (Helen) Crow, Huron, SD; Bob Jr. (Bonnie) Crow, Bison, SD; John (Lesa) Crow, Bryant, SD; Greg (Ann) Crow, Eagen, MN; 23 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; sister, Deloris (Ken) Neumiller, Sheridan, WY; brother-in-law, Myron Timmons, in Colorado, and numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Potts, sister, Florence Timmons, grandson, Jeremy Allan Crow, and great granddaughter, Rhema Rose Doerr.


Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 to 6:00pm at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon and on Monday one hour prior to services at Calvary Lutheran Church in Lemmon.
