Obituary

On September 22, 2017, Jory was taken into the arms of the Lord as he went home to rest. Jory passed away at his home in Renton, Washington at the age of 70 years old.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm MT on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD with Chuck Edwards officiating. Full military honors will be afforded by the Sturgis VFW.

Jory was born in Rapid City, SD on March 23, 1947 to Leroy and Ruth (Paris) Edwards. Jory was the third of six siblings. Jory started his education in Kindergarten at General Beadle School and then the family moved to Pactola where he went to school up to the seventh grade and then attended North Middle School for the eighth grade. He went to high school in Rapid City and Hill City where he graduated.

Jory went to work for Rapid Furniture in Rapid City and later for Hubbard Milling in Rapid City, Jory joined the South Dakota National Guard and the United States Army Reserve, beginning his career as an enlisted soldier then going on to attend Officer Candidate School. He retired at the rank of Major.
Jory moved to Renton, Washington where he managed a storage building and then retired there.

While in Renton, Jory became an active member of the Renton ABATE and when presented with the opportunity to be part of the forming of the Washington State Amigos, Jory took it. As such, he was a founding member of the Amigos Motorcycle Club. He served as a Chapter President for King County and was Washington State President. He was the King County spokesman for the Estrella Sola Chapter. His advice and wisdom for the Amigos Motorcycle Club will forever be remembered in the structure that it is today. As every Amigo can attest, Jory was the "GoTo" guy whenever any situation would arise and it would be the right decision. As one Brother put it, Jory was an active and powerful voice.

In the words of this girlfriend, Shelley, Jory was always there to help anyone seeking his advice, help, or anything they needed, which all his Brothers can attest to.

If you had to describe Jory in three words, it would be Love, Loyalty, and Respect. His Love, his Loyalty, and his repect for this club was felt by each and every member of the Amigos Motorcycle Club.

Jory will be greatly missed by all – Rest in Peace Jory Edwards.
Jory enjoyed visiting his family, expecially his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He would make the trip every year until this year, when his health restricted his travels.

Jory is survived by his daughter, Wendy and Wanda, and his son Jory John; his four grandchildren, Brandi Lynn, Misti Dawn, Timmy Strand, and Jory Rae, and two great grandchildren, Joey Urijah-Lee and Aubree James. He is also survived by brothers, Charles (Deanna) and Craig (Julia) and a sister, Carol (Geno) Solano and special friend, Shelley Gilkison.

Jory was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd and a sister, Cheryl, and his mother and father.
