Obituary

Raymond Henry Roth, 70, of Elgin, ND, passed from this life August 11, 2011, at his home.

He was born September 22nd, 1940, in Golden Valley ND, the son of the late Henry and Katherina (Ude) Roth. He was the third of five siblings. Ray attended school in Cole Harbor and Riverdale ND, where he met the love of his life, Judy Hillius. They were united in marriage on September 10th, 1960 and shared over fifty wonderful years together.

Ray was a wonderful father to his daughter, Penny, and his son, Ricky. He enjoyed spending time with his four grandsons Philip, Joshua, Ryan and Garret.

After retiring from his government civil service job, he was able to continue with his true passions in life, spending time with his family, traveling, camping, fishing, golfing and driving through the Ford Dealership parking lot looking at new vehicles.

Ray loved life, his Diet Coke, and enjoyed people. He spent time with the Elgin Lions Club, Elgin Golf Course, and Minot Moose Lodge. His laugh was bigger than he was and he never hesitated to strike up a conversation with anyone around.

His memory will forever be with his wife Judy, Daughter Penny and husband John, Son Ricky and wife Pamela, his four grandsons, Philip, Ryan, Joshua, and Garret, siblings Myron, Larry, Rosella, Diana, and Edna, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and those countless others that had the opportunity to know him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm MT Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Elgin with Pastor John Amundson, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Elgin Golf Course and can be sent to Ray Roth Memorial, 310 E St N, Elgin, ND 58533.
