Randy Christensen, 72, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026. Born on March 23, 1954, in Langdon, North Dakota, Randy later moved his young family to Hettinger, North Dakota in 1980, where he built a life centered around family, hard work, and caring for others.
Randy was a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and proudly served patients and families through his work at West River Regional Medical Center. His calm presence, compassion, and dedication touched many lives throughout his career.
Above all, Randy was a devoted father and grandfather. His children, Stephanie Christensen and Cory Christensen, knew they could always count on him. He was also a proud grandfather to Gavin, Madelyn, and Dymon Christensen, who brought him great joy.
Randy gave the best advice without really giving advice at all. He trusted the people he loved to find their own way but was always there to listen, support, and quietly guide them when needed.
He loved hunting, fishing, golf, working with his hands, fixing things around the house, tending to his garden, and caring for his lawn. He found joy in simple routines and took pride in creating a home and life centered on those he loved.
Randy is survived by his children, Stephanie Christensen and Cory Christensen; his grandchildren, Gavin, Madelyn, and Dymon Christensen; his former wife, Della; and her children, Sally, Sarah, and Blake, who were part of his extended family and life journey; as well as his brother, Dale Christensen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ole and Marjorie Christensen; his brother, Albert Christensen; and his beloved puppy, Angel.
Those who knew Randy will remember a kind, steady man who was always there when needed and had a way of giving the best advice without ever telling you what to do. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
Dad, thank you for always being there. The world feels different without you in it, but we will carry your love with us forever.
