Ralph B. Johnson, 92, Mott, ND went home to be with his heavenly Father on January 20, 2015 at the Mott Good Samaritan Society.

The Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Evangelical Community Church in Mott, ND. Pastor Ed Billock will officiate with interment at Sunnyslope Cemetery, Mott.

RALPH BENNET JOHNSON was born on the family homestead located in Merrill Township in southern Hettinger County, ND near Bentley. He was welcomed to the family of Abraham and Emma (Peterson) Johnson on October 26, 1922. He joined older siblings Arthur, Florence and Alice, and was followed by baby sister Delores.

He attended country school and graduated from Mott Lincoln High School in 1941. On June 2, 1946 Ralph married the love of his life, Dorothy Salzsieder, in Lemmon, SD. They began their life together on the land Abraham Johnson homesteaded in 1904. This farm was given the distinction of being named a Centennial Farm of North Dakota. They continued to farm and ranch together on the family homestead until 1965 when they moved to Mott. To this union two sons, Dale and Charles, were born. He continued to farm until 1977 when he retired.

Ralph and Dorothy enjoyed spending 21 winters in Mesa, AZ as "snowbirds". In 2009 they moved to the Edgewood Assisted Living in Bismarck, ND. After three years there, they entered the Mott Good Samaritan Society. He and Dorothy recently celebrated their 68th Wedding Anniversary.

The things Ralph valued most in life were faith, family, farm and friends. He will be remembered as a man of integrity and his love of people. As a proud Norwegian, he always had time to stop and talk or have a cup of coffee.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife Dorothy, sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Kathy Johnson, Bismarck, ND; Charles and Glenda Johnson, Piedmont, SD; sister Delores Polare, Cheyenne, WY; grandchildren James (Tracey) Johnson, Mott, ND; Ben (Jennifer) Johnson, Maple Grove, MN; Steven Johnson, Ames, IA; Julie (Shannon) Hammeren, Bismarck, ND; Scott Johnson, Bloomington, MN; and great grandchildren James and Bailey Johnson; Alli and Wyatt Johnson; and Emily, Katie, and Eric Hammeren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Arthur, and two sisters, Florence Berg and Alice Bope.
