Obituary

Philomena Ruscheinsky, age 94 of Carson, was welcomed into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Monday, August 29, 2016. She passed away at the Elm Crest Manor in New Salem.

Phil was born at home in Raleigh, ND on April 25, 1922 to Max and Eva (Winter) Miller. She attended country school south of St. Gertrude's until she was united to the love of her life, Max Ruscheinsky, on March 26, 1940. Together Max and Phil farmed, ranched and raised seven children. In 1976, they retired and moved into Carson. In 2006, Phil moved to the Carson 4-Plex.

Phil's greatest joys were sharing her cooking and garden produce with her family, and playing cards with friends. She loved visits from all of her children and grandchildren, and always had something fresh baked to share. Her grandchildren always bragged that Grandma baked the best chocolate chip cookies and brownies.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Linda (Vic) Braun, Pacific, WA; Rosie (Matt) Aberle, Mohall, ND; Kathy (Pat) Hauge, Carson, ND; 4 sons, Ralph (Iola) Ruscheinsky, Ervin (Aggie) Ruscheinsky, all of Carson, ND; Marvin (Gertie) Ruscheinsky, Raleigh, ND; Roger (Sharon) Ruscheinsky) Jamestown, ND; 1 sister, Evelyn Ruscheinsky, Fargo, ND; 22 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren,
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max, her parents, Max and Eva Miller, 3 sisters, Dorothy and Verna Hersch, and Sally Christl, 4 brothers, Max, John, Emil, and Bert, one granddaughter, Kari Jo Ruscheinsky, and 2 great grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Philomena will be held 10:30am MT; Thursday, September 1, 2016 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Carson. Fr Dennis Schafer will officiate with burial in the Carson Community Cemetery.

A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00pm on Wednesday evening at the church in Carson.
