Patrick O'Connor, age 72, of Lemmon, SD, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at the Western Horizons Care Center in Hettinger, ND.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lemmon, SD.  Fr. Adam Hofer and Deacon Bill Dustman will officiate with burial to follow in the Greenhill Cemetery.

Patrick Steven O'Connor was born in Sheridan, Wyoming, on September 11, 1952, to James and Martha O'Connor.

Patrick attended elementary school in Lemmon, South Dakota. Martha, Dennis, and Pat moved to Bison for a couple years. Once there, Martha's sister, Jean, moved in with them for some time.  The family moved back to Lemmon, where Martha's brothers, Stan, Steve, and Frank, all lived with them at various times, all of whom have since passed away.

Pat was at the Black Hills Workship in Rapid City for a couple years. He then worked as a helper for his uncle, Stan Lesselyoung, who was a carpenter.

Pat also worked at the Live Center in Lemmon before entering the Western Horizons Facility in 2013.

He loved animals and birds, as well as books. Pat had a real green thumb and had beautiful aloe vera plans. He had two pet parakeets that he loved to spend time with.

Pat always had a smile on his face and loved the activities at the facility.

Pat is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Denny and Jane O'Connor; special aunts, Mary Kari and Connie Hay; and many cousins and friends.
