Patricia "Patty" Helfrich, age 65 of Mott, ND, passed from this life on Friday, October 30, 2020 at the Mott Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home.

Services for Patty will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2020 with a Rosary at 10:30am and the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am both at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Mott.  Fr. Stephen Folorunso will officiate with burial in Sunnyslope Cemetery at Mott.

Serving as casketbearers are her brothers Matthew, Harvey, Louie, Vince, Kenny, Gary, and friend Kenny Messer.

Special music will be provided by Pat Schwartz.

PATRICIA CAROL HELFRICH (also known as "Patty") was born on November 28, 1954 at Gress Maternity Home in Mott, ND.  She was the youngest of thirteen children born to Arthur Jacob and Magdalena M. (Binstock) Helfrich.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. Vincent's Catholic Church.

Patty attended St. Vincent's Elementary and Regent Public schools, graduating from Mott Lincoln High School in 1973.  She babysat for area children for several years and worked at Olson's Super Value stocking shelves and cleaning until retiring due to health reasons.

Patty was a fixture at her beloved St. Vincent's Catholic Church (rarely missing weekly Mass or church events) where she was a Greeter/Gift Bearer for many years, alongside her dear friend,  Kenny.

Patty loved all her family of brothers and sisters as well as her nieces and nephews, remembering them on their birthdays and special events.  Patty could often be seen at many school sporting activities,  cheering on the local sports teams.

Her many interests included card games, bowling, bingo, car racing and the Special Olympics.  Each year she looked forward to attending Camp Re-Creation in Richardton and was eager to tell others about her experiences there.   For many years she volunteered at the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home.  She was a member of Special Olympics, Catholic Daughters of America, St. Vincent's Altar Society, and Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her brothers: Matthew (Margaret) Helfrich, Billings, MT; Harvey (Katherine) Helfrich, Gillette, WY; Louis Helfrich, Dickinson, ND; Vincent Helfrich (Ella Nesheim), Dickinson, ND; Kenneth (Vicki) Helfrich, Bismarck, ND; Gary (Violet) Helfrich, Hettinger, ND;  sisters  Betty (Wilbert) Herner, Mott, ND; Delores (Mike) Frieze, Mott, ND; Mary Ann (Harry) Wiedmer, Tioga, ND; brother-in-law, Victor Messmer, Glen Ullin, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special friends, Kenny Messer and his parents, Mary and Larry Messer.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Arthur and Anton, sister Clara Messmer, sisters-in-law Irene, Loretta, and Anna Helfrich.
