Service of Remembrance for Norma Jean Erickson, 74, of Hettinger, ND will be Friday, December 30, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hettinger Lutheran Church. Rev. Kathleen Dettmann will officiate and burial will follow at the Hettinger Cemetery. Visitations will be from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger.

NORMA JEAN OLSON was born on June 22, 1931 at Bucyrus, ND, the daughter of Otto Orvile "Willie" and Beata (Peterson) Olson. Her family moved to Hettinger, ND where she graduated from Hettinger High School in 1949.

Norma was united in marriage to Gerald Jerome "Gussy" Stenberg in 1949 and they made their home in the Hettinger area. Two children, Joan Susan and Cindy Kay, were born to this union. Norma Jean worked at the Hettinger Sale Barn performing clerk duties. Gussy died in October, 1958. Norma also worked for the Adams County Farm Agency from 1958 to 1960.

On July 23, 1960, Norma Jean marred Lloyd Erickson at Hettinger, where they lived until 1965, subsequently moving to the Erickson farm north of Hettinger. Lloyd and Norma were engaged in farming until Lloyd's death in July, 1998.

Norma moved to an apartment in Hettinger until she entered the Hillcrest Care Center on October 31, 2005, where she passed from this life on Dec. 26, 2005.

Norma was a member of the Hettinger Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, the ND Farm Bureau and the ND Republican party.

She enjoyed craft painting, sewing, scrap-booking, playing piano and loved to have her children and grandchildren visit. She was also known as a meticulous record-keeper, having managed the Erickson farm records, as well as personal records with great precision.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughters, Joan (Russell) Miller, of Carrington, ND and Cindy (Don) Keller, of Orem, UT; grandchildren, Jocelyn (Patrick) Pharr, of Kennesaw, GA, Regan (Amanda) Miller, of O'Fallon, IL, Brady (Debra) Fox, of Orem, UT, Casey (Millie) Fox, of Midway, UT, Tyler Fox, of Orem, UT and Gentry Fox, of Rock Springs, WY; three great grandchildren, Phillip and Garrison Miller and Danica Fox; and several neices and nephews. Preceding Norma in death were her parents, her first husband, Gerald Stenberg, her second husband, Lloyd Erickson, one infant brother and one sister.
