Norita Roll, age 86, of Mott, ND, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, December 4, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. MT at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Mott.  Fr. Chris Kadrmas, Fr. Dennis Shafer and Fr. Bruce Krebs will concelebrate and burial will follow at Sunnyslope Cemetery in Mott, ND.  Visitation will be from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m., followed by the Rosary at 7:00 p.m., all at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Mott, ND on Sunday, December 3, 2023.

Norita was born on May 18, 1937 to Mike and Emmie Lutz in Mott, ND. She was raised on a farm northwest of Mott and graduated in 1955 from Mott Lincoln High School.

On November 5, 1956 she married the love of her life, Sebastian Roll. In 1958, they moved to the farm, 8 ½ miles north of Burt and raised four children, Michael, Brent, Glenn and Shelly. While on the farm, she loved gardening, canning and taking hot meals to the field for all to enjoy. Although she milked many cows, it's not something she would have done again.

Norita enjoyed many things, including Northstar Homemaker's Club, quilting, American Legion Auxiliary, playing cards, crafting, reading, working at the Eido and baking - especially bread, which was a hit no matter who came to visit.  There were always goodies on the counter when her kids came home from school. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She took great pride in making a quilt for each of her children and grandchildren out of Seb's shirts.

In 1999, Seb and Norita moved to their home 2 miles north of Mott. This gave them the opportunity to travel and spend time with family. They were also proud to be part of the renovation of St. Vincent Catholic Church.

One of the highlights that she enjoyed was meeting one of her favorite authors, Debbie McComber. She enjoyed traveling and made many new friends though the Legion. Norita made friends easily and looked forward to her hunters coming to stay every year.

Grateful for having shared in Norita's life are her sons, Brent (Mary) Roll, Mott, ND; Glenn (Susan) Roll, Glyndon, MN; daughter, Shelly (Scott) McCormack, Orting, WA; daughter-in-law, Donna Roll, Mt.
