He earned enough money to return to Lefor in the spring of 1938 to plant the crop. Nick was united in marriage to Kathrine Martin on September 13, 1938 at Lefor. Nick and Kathrine resided on a farm near Lefor for three years, then moved to New England, ND for a year, and then returned to Lefor. In 1944, they moved to a farm three miles north of Lemmon where they resided and continued raising their family of eleven children.
