Navah (Holdahl) Den Herder was born in Calcutta, India, and adopted by Bob and Mary Holdahl.

Due to her father's career in the Marine Corps, Navah's family moved frequently during her childhood. As a result, she attended schools in various locations, primarily in Florida and South Dakota. In 1998, the family relocated from Florida to Yankton, South Dakota, after her father secured a job there.

Being only about twelve upon arriving in Yankton, she focused on her schooling, friendships, music, and social activities. She always enjoyed being involved in whatever was happening around her.

Navah met Andrew at a church function. She was there with a friend and mistook Andrew for someone else she knew. After that, Navah and Andrew would keep in touch during high school and beyond. In their early 20's they reconnected over music, movies, and her playful challenge to outdo his knowledge on various topics. They were married on May 28, 2011. Navah later became a successful consultant with Thirty-One Gifts, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Navah loved doting on her French Bulldogs, Winston and Diesel, who brought great joy to her and Andrew's lives.  She enjoyed discovering new music and TV shows to share with Andrew and loved experimenting with new recipes and dining experiences. She very much loved shopping and finding new knickknacks. Like her father, she was always on the look out for the "deal".

Navah had a giving spirit and found joy in giving thoughtful gifts to people even if it was just an ear to listen or a shoulder to lean on. She was often the go-to person for information within her family, always in the know about what was going on or who was doing what. Information was a way she formed connections within the family since she was very little, as she was very much the social butterfly. Her sociable nature lead her to a passion for photography. She was always wanting to capture memories with everyone in her life or showcasing the beauty around her.

Navah passed away peacefully at home in Sioux Center, IA, on January 13, 2025, due to complications from chronic illness.

Navah is survived by her husband Andrew Den Herder; her mother Mary Holdahl; her brother Heath (Amanda) Holdahl; her sister Tessa Hanson; and her nephew Caleb.

Navah was preceded in death by her father, Bob (Robert) Holdahl; her brother, Jim (James) Holdahl & fiancé, Taronda Allen; both sets of grandparents (Holdahl and Barnes); as well as uncles, aunts, and cousins.
