MYRON DEE LARSON was born in Mott, ND, on August 1, 1935 to Svend and Dorothea (Walheim) Larson. He was raised in Mott and attended Mott Public School, graduating in 1955. While still in school Myron started his first job. He purchased a pickup and turned it into a homemade school bus of sorts, complete with sides, a topper, and even seats in which to take kids to and from school. Following his graduation he began working for the local TV repair and radio tower installation business in Mott.
While at a dance in Haynes, ND, he met Shirley Barnhart. On July 28, 1957, they were united in marriage. Two children were born to this union, Myria and Monty. Myron and Shirley lived in Mott, raising their family, while Myron built a successful business constructing grain bins, numerous buildings in western North Dakota and operating numerous contract busing routes for area schools. Later, Myron and his brother, Vernon, started farming and ranching. His son Monty would join the farming venture raising grain and cattle. Myron was very proud of his achievements and was very ambitious.
While in business, Myron began flying, joking he wanted to have a big enough business to fly a Leer Jet. Myron was an IFR (instrument flight rules) multi engine rated pilot, and would often fly to different building projects he was working on. He enjoyed hunting and flying, spending time in the field, and was proud of being a lifelong member of the Elks.
Myron sold his cattle in 1999 and began focusing on crop production. He enjoyed working alongside his family until his health forced him to retire 2000.
Myron is survived by his faithful and devoted wife, Shirley Larson, Mott, ND; one son, Monty (Jackie) Larson, Mott, ND; one daughter, Myria (Stephen) Perry, Beulah, ND; six grandchildren, Matthew (Amanda) Perry, Stephanie (Aaron) Hayden, Justeen (Dave) Hodgson, Mandy (Thiago) de Menezes, Josh Larson, and Marshall Larson, five great-grandchildren, Hope Hayden, Oliver and Willow Perry, Beriah and Durham Hodgson, and baby boy de Menezes due in June, 2021; two brothers, Vernon (Ramona) Larson, Mott, ND and Roger (Mary) Larson, Holmen, WI; one sister-in-law, Sharon Larson, Mott, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Jim Larson.
