MYLA ETHEL AMANDA KYT ROWE HERTZ, so many names for someone so unassuming and who preferred to hear Mom, Gramma, or Little Gramma. She was born into the Finlander family of Charles and Maria (Honkanen) Kyt on July 11, 1919, at Elgin, ND. She took that proud Finnish heritage with her when she met her Lord the evening of August 13, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Society of Mott.

A mere stretch of 25 miles around New Leipzig is where Myla lived the majority of her years. She grew up playing with her five sisters in the hills on the farm outside of New Leipzig. Myla was united in marriage to Orris Kennedy Rowe and after a stint in Colorado, they returned to New Leipzig to raise their children, Glenn, Judy, Paul, and Mary. Following Kenny's passing, she took turns living on the farm, and then rotating time with her kids.

Myla returned to New Leipzig when she married her high school sweetheart, Almore Hertz and became step mom to five more kids. Almore and Myla have continued to spend their retirement years together in New Leipzig.

Myla was known for her positive attitude, t-ring, and caramel rolls. She always had a meal, a smile and hug for anyone who stopped to visit. She lived her life with and full of love which is all she needed and wanted.

Surviving family members include her husband, Almore Hertz, New Leipzig, ND; children, Glenn (Mercella) Rowe, Loveland, CO; Judy Baesler, Hillsboro, ND; Paul (Avis) Rowe, Mandan, ND; Mary Ann Pfau, Sidney, MT; 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; 6 step children, Jack Hertz, New Leipzig, ND; Diane (Jim) Lince, Vancouver, WA; Keith (Jeanette) Hertz, New Leipzig, ND; Kevin (Marcy) Hertz, New Leipzig, ND; Jan (Stacy) Hertz, Mandan, ND; Darcy Hertz, New Leipzig, ND; and numerous step grand and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Orris Kennedy Rowe, 5 sisters, and 1 brother.

Visitation will be on Friday from 9:00 to 10:00 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Leipzig.

The family requests gifts in Myla's memory be given to the Good Samaritan Society Mott.
