Funeral services for Medelle "Lorrie" Dragoo, 77, of Lodgepole, SD will be on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Bison, SD. CLP Florence Hoff will officiate and burial will follow at the Fredlund Cemetery near Lodgepole, SD. Visitations will be from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger, ND and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday morning.


MEDELLE LORRAINE "Lorrie" DAVIE was born on September 3, 1932 in Bellingham, Washington to Edwin and Olive A. (Davis) Davie. She grew up in Bellingham and graduated from High School in 1951. Lorrie moved to California and lived with her brother, Howard and went to school to become a dietician.


In 1952 she was married to Alex Barowsky. To this union was born a daughter, Marie. Lorrie moved to Lead, SD in 1974 with her daughter. In 1976 she married Gordon Dragoo and lived on the family farm south of Lodgepole, SD. Her husband, Gordon, passed away in 2002.


In her life she enjoyed swimming, fishing, gardening and entertaining friends and neighbors. Lorrie passed away at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger, ND on September 30, 2009.


Lorrie is survived by her daughter, Marie (Monte) Weaver, Fenly, NV; step-daughter, Lana (Greg) Frey, Rapid City, SD; step-son, Ron (Brenda) Dragoo, Hettinger, ND; sister, Arlene Baldie, Bellingham, WA; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Lorrie was preceded in death by her parents, her ex-husband, Alex Barowsky, her husband, Gordon Dragoo and two brothers, William and Howard Davie.
