Maxine L. Baumeister, age 83, of Spearfish, SD, formerly of Faith, SD and Lemmon, SD, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Spearfish, SD, on Thursday, August 11, 2016.

Per her wishes no services will be held and burial will be in the Greenhill Cemetery in Lemmon, SD.

Maxine Gordon was born on April 30, 1933, in Lemmon, SD, to Stewart and Neoma (Watson) Gordon. She grew up in Lemmon and attended school there.

She moved to Faith, SD, in 1955 where she raised her family and worked various restaurant jobs. Maxine was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Faith.

In August of 1999, she moved to Spearfish, SD, where she resided until her passing. She loved to crochet, knit, and sew.

She is survived by her sons, Monte (Susanne) Baumeister, Rapid City, SD, Dennis (Linda) Baumeister, Crawfordville, Fl, Marvin Baumeister, Texas, Barry (Angela) Baumeister, Marion, Iowa and Duane (Jennie) Gordon, Donner Lake, CA; her daughter, Debbie Welch, Rapid City, SD; one brother, Douglas Gordon, Georgetown, CA; 18 grandchildren,23 great grand children and 2 great-great grandchildren.
