Funeral services for Matthew Jack, age 43 of Lemmon, will be held at 11:00 a.m. MT Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Lemmon. Pastor Ken Miller will officiate with burial in Greenhill Cemetery.


A family service will be held 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home.


Serving as Honorary Casketbearers are Ty Seidel, Shyanne Seidel, Raechael Seidel, John Robert Danaher, Lynn and Tyler Danaher, Dustin Jack, Garett Jack, Kory Foss, Dani Foss, Evelyn Jo Foss, Mason Dauwen, and Chett Dauwen.


Serving as Active Casketbearers are John Dethlefs, Morgan Wise, Mark Jack, Doug Dauwen, Jared Day, and Robert Jack.


A memorial has been established for the future education of his daughters.


MATTHEW AARON JACK was born June 26, 1966 in Rhinebeck, NY to Robert and Bonnie (Bishop) Jack. He attended school in New York before moving and graduating from Rapid City Central in 1985. Following high school, he went to work for Contractors Insulations and Drywall Supply as a warehouse foreman. In 1992, he met the love of his life JoDee Lynn Edwards. They were united in marriage on July 24, 1993 in Rapid City, SD at the Calvary Lutheran Church.


To this union two beautiful daughters were born, Paige Belle on March 4, 1994, and Erin Marie on June 7, 1995. They moved to Lemmon, SD in 2002 and Matt began working for Cenex Harvest States. In 2004, he purchased his own tire truck, and operated his own business called Jacks-n-Tires. Due to his health, he sold the tire truck in 2008.


Matt passed from this life early Thursday morning, March 18, 2010 at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger at the age of 43 years, 8 months, 22 days.


Matt prided himself in taking care of his family. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing gin, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. His true passion was the Grateful Dead Band. He was well known for his love of tye dyed t-shirts.


Keeping him in their fondest memories are his wife JoDee, daughters, Paige and Erin, and his two sidekicks, Ellie Mae and Jethro; his mother, Bonnie Mack, Hot Springs, SD; sister, Bonnie (John) Danaher and children, John Robert and Lynn, Venice, FL; brothers, Mark Jack, Venice, FL, Robert "Bob" (Jodi) Jack and children Dustin and Garett, Carrington, ND; father and mother-in-law, Charles and Deanna Edwards, Lemmon, SD; paternal grandmother, Lillian Seaman, Venice, FL; sisters-in-law, Donna (Doug) Dauwen and children Dani (Kory) Foss, Mason and Chett, Lemmon, SD; Tammy (Justin) Seidel and children Ty, Shyanne, and Raechael, Shadehill, SD; special great niece, Evelyn Jo (Peanut) Foss, and great nephew Tyler Danaher.


Matt was preceded in death is his father, Robert Jack, maternal grandparents, paternal grandfathers, and his beloved sidekick, Jet.


Visitation will be on Monday 1:00 to 7:00 pm at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon and on Tuesday one hour prior to services at Calvary Lutheran Church.
