A memorial service for Mary Lou Block, age 62, of Lemmon will be held at 10:30am Wednesday, October 12, at the Prince Of Peace Chapel of the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon with Pastor Ken Miller, officiating.


Mary Lou Guyer was born June 13, 1943 at McIntosh, SD to Samuel Ernest and Emma (Kern) Guyer. She attended surrounding area schools and school in McIntosh. She was married and one son Jerry was born. In 1963, she was united in marriage and 5 children were born, Rose, Richard, Roxanne, Robert, and Ralph. Mary Lou lived in McIntosh until 1982 when she moved to Lemmon. She cooked at the A & W Restaurant and later on worked in the bakery at Bill's Super Value until her health began to fail.


Mary Lou passed away at her home in Lemmon.


She enjoyed sewing, painting, being around animals, and her children.


Surviving family members are her 3 sons, Jerry Shellbe, McMinnville, OR; Robert Block, Lemmon, SD; Ralph Block, Rapid City, SD; 2 daughters, Rose Ingram, in Arkansas, Roxanne Eide, Montrose, CO; 1 brother, Ben Guyer, in Montana; 2 sisters, Emily Hlavinka, Dallas OR; and Francis Nix, in TX.


She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, Richard, and 1 sister, Florence Kronberger.
