Obituary

Fourth of twelve children born in Grant County, ND to August and Juliana Maedche, she is survived by her husband Kenneth whom she married in Livingston, MT on June 9, 1978 where they lived until moving to Washington in 1990.

Martha (daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt) is now home with her Lord. She went home to heaven surrounded by her family who loved her very much.

Proceeded in death by her oldest son, Robert R. Schaible; Bob's wife Roberta (Birdie) resides in Bismarck, ND. Other children include Lilah (Don) Schaible-Auvil, Betty Kavaroos, Jamie Leinan, Gary Skogley and Charles (Gloria) Skogley. Step children: Ida Mae (Sam) Sevier, Vicki (Jack) Sams, K.C. (Sue) Proffitt and Voni (Bob) Chendorani.

She loved her extended family which included twenty-one grandchildren, thirty three great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Martha loved being at home raising her children, running a day care, and caring for grandchildren. She loved cooking, especially German dishes, as well as crafts of all sorts: ceramics, crocheting dish cloths and towels (that she gifted to family and friends), sewing aprons, and painting ladybug rocks. She also loved to garden, collect all sorts of clocks and lady bugs. Great-grandchildren will remember putting puzzle's together with her when they visited. On any given weekend in the summer, she looked for the best buy at yard sales and loved to dicker the price.

As grandma, she looked forward to and attended nearly all of her grandchildren's high school graduation ceremonies no matter what state it happen to be in.
At the age of eighty-five, she got her first tattoo - a ladybug and within the year, she added two more so they would make a family.

This past September, four days before she took sick, she was still doing what she does best—cooking Knepfla. (klebin & kartoffel)

Martha attended Puyallup Nazarene Church where she enjoyed fellowship at monthly potlucks, special activities and tour trips around the state of Washington.
Memorials can be sent in her name to Puyallup Nazarene Church, 1026 7th Ave SW, Puyallup, WA 98371.

Her wishes were that she be laid to rest at Sunnyslope Cemetery, Mott, ND. Graveside services will be held there in the spring.
