Service of Remembrance for Mark Kevin Springer, 53, of Riverton, WY, formerly of Hettinger, ND will be Saturday, May 26, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hettinger. Fr. Chad Gion will officiate and burial of his urn with Military Honors afforded by the Johnson-Melary American Legion Post #115 will follow at the Hettinger Cemetery. He'll be laid to rest next to his parents.


Mark was born in Hettinger, ND on October 2, 1953, the son of Wallace A. Springer and Bernadine M. (France) Springer. He was baptized into the Roman Catholic faith. Mark graduated from Hettinger High School in 1971 and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving in the nuclear submarine service for nine years, 1971 – 80. He was a veteran of the Vietnam era. Mark then worked as an electronic mechanic for the FAA in support of air controllers in the commercial airline industry. Mark lived primarily in Phoenix, AZ, Long Island, NY, Spain, San Francisco, CA, Honolulu, HI and Thule, Greenland, before moving to Riverton four and a half years ago.


Mark had a favorite past-time. He loved restoring antique radios, electronic gadgets, motorcycles, Corvette's and other cars. Genuinely so, Mark was a very special and loving brother to all of his sibling and a tremendously giving person. If at any time a person would mention a need, Mark would see to it that they got what they needed – maybe it was just something planned for fun – it didn't matter. Mark was always a step ahead of his family, it seemed. He acquired many, many friends throughout his life-time. He will always be deeply loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.


Mark Springer died at his home in Riverton, WY on Thursday, November 30, 2006. Grateful for having been a part of his life are his brothers, Jon (Janice) Springer, Riverton, WY, Dennis (Mary) Springer, Green River, WY, Tom Springer, Hettinger, Steve (Kyong Hui) Springer, Watkins, CO, sisters, Kaye (Allen) McIntyre, Hettinger, Janys (Richard) Krause, Bloomington, MN, Leah (Jerry) Wells, Williston, ND and Jacqueline (Steve) Hedstom, Lodgepole, SD. Mark was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
