Memorial services for Marjorie Halverson, age 77, of McIntosh, SD, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at the First Presbyterian Church in McIntosh, SD with Pastor Tottie Lenerville officiating.

Marjorie Carrol Glover was born on June 15, 1940, in Bismarck, ND, to Marvin and Martha (Peterson) Glover. She attended Silent Butte School north of Watauga, SD, until the family moved northwest of Walker, SD. She then attended Umber School, McIntosh High School and earned her diploma via correspondence.

While in high school, Marj met and fell in love with Russel Halverson and June 19, 1960 they were married. Marj and Russ made their home on the Halverson Ranch from that day forward and raised four children. She enjoyed all crafts, jigsaw puzzles and camping. It's a little known fact that Marj ran her own incredibly successful dairy operation, running over 700 Holsteins….ranging from stuffed to ceramic and everything in between. This was the largest dairy operation in the region. Marj's grandkids and great-grand kids were extra special to her and she was quick to share pictures.

Her super-power was her memory. Marj remembered everything: birthdays, events and family stories.

She loved the color red, roses and birds. Always a giving person, she chose to donate her body for medical research.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Russel; four children, Ronald, Marleen, Arlen (Nancy) and Shannon (Jackie); six grandchildren, Angie (Jeremy), Marlin, Wayne (Erin), Tyrel (Abrie), Michael (Haley) and Chris; and six-great grandchildren, Brantley, Cayden, Kyler, Braxton, Bennet and Jaden.

Marj was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
