Marie E. Kendrick age 83 of Belle Fourche, died Friday October 12, 2007 at the Belle Fourche Regional Senior Care Center, in Belle Fourche.

The funeral service will be held 1pm Friday October 19th at the St. James Lutheran Church in Belle Fourche, with Rev. Jeff Otterman officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held in the Pine Slope Cemetery, in Belle Fourche.

Memorials are preferred to the building fund at the Belle Fourche Regional Senior Care Center.

Marie Elizabeth Kendrick was born March 28, 1924 on the family farm near Nisland. She was the daughter of Henry and Kathryn (Kindsfater) Ruff. Marie grew up on the family farm near Nisland where she graduated from high school. On January 15, 1948 she was united in marriage to John E. Kendrick in Rapid City. To this union, two daughters were born, Kathy and Donna. Marie worked at Kimports Department Store in Belle Fourche for a number of years. She also worked at the Browning Nursing Home. For 27 years, Marie was the cook and baker at Watts Café. She was last employed as a baker at the Family Thrift Store, retiring after 13 years.

Marie will be remembered by many for her cooking and baking. Her pies and rolls were the best. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and she will be missed greatly.

Marie is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Alan) Harvey of Belle Fourche, Donna (Eric) Stumbaugh of Tucson AZ; 4 grandchildren, Shaughn West, Scott Stumbaugh, Chad Harvey, Ryan Harvey; 4 great grandchildren, Benjamin, Brandon, Emma, and Anna West; brothers, Albert and Walter Ruff both of Nisland; 1 niece; and 2 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dolly Stoppel; and brothers Ray, Herb, Victor, Henry, and Paul Ruff.
