Service of Remembrance for Margie Krug, 77, of Mott, ND will be Monday, August 27, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Mott. Rev. John Amundson will officiate and burial will follow at the Sunnyslope Cemetery in Mott. Visitations will be from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25 and from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 26 at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Mott and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday morning.


MARGIE CATHERINE KROGH was born to Christian and Marie (Ness) Krogh on October 17, 1929 on the family farm south of Regent, ND. She went to country school and graduated from Regent High School in 1949. She worked at the Regent Café and Regent 1st State Bank until marrying Wallace Gordon on October 2, 1950. In 1951 they moved to Mott where Wallace owned and operated the Standard Oil Station. They were blessed with four children, three boys and one girl. Margie was a stay at home mom for 21 years. When Wallace passed away in 1971, Margie went to work for the Mott Public School system as an assistant cook from 1971 to 1991.


On May 24, 1986, Margie married John Krug. They enjoyed their retirement dancing, camping, playing cards and being with family and friends. They also enjoyed four years of monitoring the Mott landfill, where they enjoyed visiting with all the local people.


Margie was an avid walker, hardly ever missing a day; she enjoyed crocheting, shopping and visiting with the neighbors on their patio. She was a devoted mother, raising her children with lots of love and laughter.


Faith was an important part of Margie's life. She was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Legion Auxiliary for many years.


Just before Christmas 2006, Margie found out that she had lung cancer. Margie Krug lost her battle with cancer on August 15, 2007 at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger, ND with her family at her side.

Grateful for having been a part of her life are her husband, John Krug, of Mott; children, Clayton (Laura) Gordon, Brooklyn, NY; MiChelle (Perry) Finck, Mott, Mark (Becky) Gordon, Rolla, MO and Todd Gordon, Dickinson, ND; step children, Sharon (Tom) Allen, Vermillion, SD and Judy (Ray) Schiwal, Mott; brother, Clarence (Virginia) Krogh, Regent, ND; sisters, Louise Olson, Summersville, MO, Orlean Rysavy, Bridger, MT and Joyce (Herbert) Gatzke, Regent, ND; ten grandchildren, Amy and Cheryl Gordon, Beau and Elliott Finck, Ean, Sophia, Grant and Spencer Gordon and Blake and Erin Gordon; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Wallace Gordon and one step son.
