Obituary

Margaret Rohr was born on February 5, 1923 to Anton and Anna (Herr) Rohr, in Dickinson, North Dakota. She married Frank Joe Martin on June 10, 1941, in Gladstone, North Dakota.

Margaret grew up the daughter of farmers and spent most of her married life on the farm, where she and Frank raised their eight children. Margaret taught her children a strong work ethic and her sense of eternal optimism, whether making fried chicken, baked goods, or German-Hungarian soups in the kitchen; tending chickens or milk cows; or weeding her vegetable and flower gardens, long into her eighties. Her home was always open to neighbors and relatives. If you walked through the door, you were family; and none left her table hungry. She taught life lessons by example, with the two most important lessons being acceptance and love.

Margaret passed away on January 25, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Center.
